September 27 - Pirates of the Caribbean October – Chili cook-off and presenting proposed officers for 2008. December 6 – Parade of Lights. Details will be forthcoming. January 5, 2009 The North Alabama Boaters Association presents the 25th Stars on the River Boat Parade at Ditto Landing. More details to come. January 9-11, 2009 - Trip to the Nashville for the Boat Show Group sales at the Courtyard by Marriott Nashville Downtown has given us a special rate of $159.00 per night for rooms with either two beds or one king bed. The rooms are on “courtesy hold” under Riverwalk Yacht Club block. Rooms must be confirmed by December 17 or they will be released. Call 615-256-0900 to reserve your room. Cathy Backe has secured for us 20 reserved seats for a performance at the Ryman for Saturday, January 10. The line-up for 2009 has not been confirmed, but you can count on it being fantastic. Let Carole or Cathy know if you want tickets. January 24, 2009 – Commodore’s Ball at Burning Tree Country Club. May 2009 – Parrot-head party sponsored by Bud & Carole. Details are still under construction. Annual boat inspection and swap meet. June 20, 2009 – Poker Run at Joe Wheeler State Park. Call and book your rooms ASAP. 256-247-5461. I did not reserve a block of rooms because it would require a 2 night minimum. If you call yourself, you can book only 1 night. We need volunteers to assist in chairing these parties.
