When Riverwalk shows up to party, they party.  The 5th annual Poker Run was held at Joe Wheeler the weekend of June 21.   Our flotilla consisted of 20 boats with many staying in rooms at the lodge.  Many of the boats have been at every event, but there were some first timers as well.  It was great to have “The Lady K”, “Louisiana Lady”, “Second Daughter” and “Elizabeth Clay” make their maiden voyage on the poker run.  This was also a first event for another new member, Michael Davis and his boat “Hart of Tiffany

There was lots of action as Philip and Angela played on jet skis and Margaret in her new dingy “Mini”.  Others took a more relaxed way of catching some sun while sitting on the “River Jewel” with Gary and Jewel.

Party started off Friday afternoon with Jack and Carrie’s home made ice cream and ended with Bud buck dancing on the dock.

Stan did his usual superb job with the Poker event.  Joe Backe took first place with the winning hand.  He promised to share with KathyRex Rankin (our newest member!!) won 2nd place.  Unfortunately (maybe not) Rex and Sharon were not with us as they were vacationing in the Grand Turks.  Carole brought up the rear with the worst hand.  Jan from Daze-off was the winner of the booze basket.  We can meet on her boat later for docktails.  Everyone dined on the fantastic buffet provided by the fine folks at Wheeler and danced off the calories to Leaving Madison.  It was great to watch Betty and Bill Sims cut a rug on the dance floor.  We also saw Frank and Sherry enjoying the music also.  How many joints does Frank have?

It was great to catch up with Jim and Judy McCullough and their gang“Lights Out” was in full regalia with Randall and his ladies.  Heather, Nathalyne and Judy were, as always, the fashion divas in their sun hats!  LaGrant and Kristen played with their canine friends while Houston and Diane entertained everyone with their antics on the dance floor as well as Houston and his water hose!

Deb Nelson & Husband, the dental hygienist who changed professions for the weekend were on board the “Playhouse”.

Michael Davis and Friend braved the ride back to Decatur that night.  He indicated that many lessons were learned that night.

Bill Weaver gave up watching his girls play tennis to be with us and making sure things ran smoothly.  Thanks Bill.

Shirley did such an outstanding job selling raffle tickets that Stan the Man is trying to get her signed up to sell furniture for him.   Does anyone need an entertainment center?  See Shirley!

We certainly hope Seamore is feeling better after his battle with Becky & the bathroom door.

Nick Toleson and Terry Reynolds had to rough it without their better halves but seemed to enjoy the trip regardless.

Thanks to all who participated!!!
